The Best Candy

In an earlier post I filled you all in on the new dance sweeping the nation that was performed at our good friends' wedding. This wedding was so beautiful and so fun I just had to share.

I'm in bridal brain mode myself due to my upcoming nuptials next November. Who doesn't love a wedding? Crazy love haters, that's who. And I am definitely a love lover.

The Ceremony

A beautiful ceremony took place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. at 3:00 p.m. See those gorgeous balls of carnations hanging from the lanterns? To die for. Well, not really. Flowers are a silly thing to die for. Step away from the ledge!

The bride's sister is one of the most amazing florists from NYC and can be spotted in a number of bridal mags and was even highlighted by Daily Candy! She is incredible and created some stunning arrangements for the ceremony and reception. This is her website - http://www.vinenyc.com/.

The reception was at an historic mansion in Georgetown called Halcyon House. It reflected the styles of the couple flawlessly. There was a cocktail hour in the tradtionally styled rooms of the house and out on the well-manicured back lawn. A black bottom pool made for the perfect setting to drink a watermelon martini.

The weather and setting were to pretty to miss a chance getting some pics with my gorgeous girlfriends and knee-weakening fiance.

After cocktails it was time for dinner and dancing. Below the house is an expansive concrete walled room that was decorated to the nines thanks to lighting, flowers, bright table cloths and white pipe and drape. The space is normally used by the owner of the house as his studio (he is a talented sculptor and his pieces were featured around the garden). More on him later.

The meal was scrumptious, while the company was delightful and the dancing was, shall we say interpretive? Read yesterday's post for my meaning.

All of this is to say that we could not be happier for our two sweet friends that found true love with one another. To the Candy's! We wish you joy and laughter to fill all of your days.
